Noord-Holland verbiedt windmolens

In de provincie Noord-Holland mogen geen nieuwe windmolens worden geplaatst. Eind dit jaar moet er een algeheel verbod komen, zegt gedeputeerde Bond. De grote, moderne windmolens passen volgens de provincie niet in het landschap.
Het besluit is een tegenvaller voor ongeveer twintig geplande windmolenprojecten in Noord-Holland. Die gaan nu niet door. Alleen bij Wieringermeer mag nog wel een nieuw park worden gebouwd, omdat de provincie daarover afspraken heeft gemaakt met het Rijk.
In juli werd al besloten om een vergunningenstop van een half jaar in te voeren. Voordat die periode voorbij is, wil de provincie een definitief verbod geregeld hebben.
