A citizen petition will resurrect the controversial Madaket wind turbine proposal for the Special Town Meeting scheduled for October, albeit a smaller version of the one voters rejected back in March.
Madaket resident Barbara Gookin gathered the required 100 signatures to get an article on the Special Town Meeting warrant for an appropriation to fund the “construction of a community scale wind turbine similar in size and specifications to the Nantucket High School wind turbine, to be located at the Madaket Landfill.”
