Nigel Evans has opposed a planning application for wind turbines on a site in Farington Moss.
The Ribble Valley MP spoke against a proposed development behind St Paul’s Church, off Croston Road in the village near Leyland, after speaking to residents during a mobile summer surgery tour.
He said: “This is a no brainer for me.
“The residents have made their views clear – putting wind turbines in Farington Moss would completely change the feel and look of this beautiful part of Lancashire. I agree with their unequivocal opposition to it.
“There is more cause for alarm if this is allowed to go ahead and that is the precedent it will set for the area. If turbines are allowed at Farington Moss then where will they be allowed next? I do not want to see these unattractive blots on the landscape allowed in other parts of the picturesque Ribble Valley either.”
