The renewable energy industry is making a big push this week to pass legislation in the state house that will radically increase the proliferation of onshore wind turbines in Massachusetts. In fact, if the legislation is approved by the house of representatives, it will mean that onshore wind turbines will become the primary renewable energy source in our state. The governor wants 2,000 MW of wind turbines by 2020, he’s got 59 MW; he’s got a long way to go very quickly, and this legislation will enable him to achieve that goal.
The renewable energy industry is doing a Lobby Day this Thursday, June 14th, and we need to be up there, too, with more people than they will have, to show legislators that this is a very controversial issue that should be avoided in an election year.
Please personally ask your allies to join us on Beacon Hill this Thursday. We’ll be there for about 3 hours – 10:00 a.m to 1:00 p.m., we need everyone there.
