The Finance Committee voted against the Madaket wind turbine project Monday afternoon, advising Town Meeting voters to veto the funding appropriation they will consider later this month as warrant article 13.
Six Finance Committee members endorsed a motion “not to adopt” the article, with Peter Morrison and Matt Fee abstaining from the vote. The funding article will undoubtedly be called for debate at Town Meeting later this month, so the Finance Committee’s vote is simply a recommendation to voters, and does not kill the project. The Board of Selectmen is scheduled to weigh in with its recommendation on the project at its meeting on Wednesday.
