The Plan Comission voted shortly before 1:30 this morning following a nearly 6 hour long public meeting.
The vote was 6-4 in favor of the Apex Wind Energy’s proposal, but it came with conditions. The company must address issues like tile costs and shadow flickers from wind turbines.

PONETO, Ind. (Indiana’s NewsCenter) – Apex Wind Energy has applied for development plan approval for a 216 mega watt wind farm in the southern portion of Wells County. The project is being proposed in two phases with a potential start date for phase one of the 2nd quarter of next year.
Hundreds of residents gathered at the gymnasium at Southern Wells High School and were given five minutes each in front of the Wells County Plan Commission to tell members why they’re either for or against the idea of a 216 mega watt wind farm in the southern portion of Wells County.
Among topics discussed were property values and increased noise.
