The developers of the last installed wind farm in South Australia are looking to construct another one about seven kilometres away.
The Waterloo wind farm near Clare was officially opened last February.
The developers, TRUenergy have since submitted a development application to the Goyder Council to construct 41 turbines at Stony Gap.
Clint Purkiss from TRUenergy says under the original operators, Roaring 40sthe project was much larger.
“We’ve certainly scaled back and minimised the footprint of the overall wind farm,” he said.
A second community group meeting on the proposed development will be held in the area early next month.
The company says it is also conducting a feasibility study into building additional turbines at the Waterloo site and is in the early planning stages of another development at Robertstown.
