The federal Member for Hume, Alby Schultz, has called for changes to regulations on the construction of wind turbines.
Mr Schultz wants a minimum two-kilometre buffer between wind turbines and residential properties.
He has also called for local communities to help decide where the turbines are built.
The Victorian Government announced similar guidelines this week and Mr Schultz has called for the New South Wales Government to follow its lead.
