NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. – One of the two controversial wind turbines proposed by Wind Energy Development LLC for North Kingstown has had its building permit reissued by the town.
In June, a permit for a turbine at the housing development at North Kingstown Green, off Ten Rod Road, was revoked by the town after the developer changed the turbine’s manufacturer. The town said the permit could be reissued if Wind Energy Development provided information about the new turbine, a revised site plan, and new information regarding noise levels.
According to a news release issued by the town, the developer complied with those requirements and the permit has been reissued.
David Darlington, a spokesman for Wind Energy Development, said the company plans to resume construction as soon as possible.
