Regarding the June 9 My View by William Griswold, “Turbine noise complaints lack logic,” either Mr. Griswold is on a mission or he has time to burn researching distances of turbines from human habitat – and apparently fuel to burn to witness the effects in person. I believe the former is the case.
One or occasional visits to sites does not establish credible evidence of the lack of noise. If he has one, I’d suggest he turn up his hearing aid. If he doesn’t have one, I would suggest considering one. Sound and noise studies are scientifically measured with instruments, not the human ear; on that basis, there is clear evidence harmful noise can be present and emitted by wind turbines large and small based on design, and under certain atmospheric conditions, no mistake about it.
