Acciona Energy has announced it will not proceed with a wind farm at Waubra North, near Evansford.
A statement issued by the company said tests showed a wind farm in that location would not be feasible.
Director of development Andrew Thomson said Acciona undertook a range of investigations and studies related to the environment, flora and fauna and wind resources.
The announcement was greeted positively by Waubra resident Maggie Reid.
Ms Reid said a campaign against the proposed wind farm lasted more than two years.
“Many of us will welcome the news that there will not be more turbines in the area,” Ms Reid said.
“The wind farm would have surrounded the Evansford area on three sides. It’s a win for the little people.”
