Labor union picketing at Kankakee Community College has stalled delivery of concrete, stone and other supplies for a wind turbine construction project, workers on the scene said Thursday.
Members of the regional Laborers Local 751, headquartered in Kankakee, have been picketing at the KCC entrance this week, with their inflatable rat parked at the main entrance.
They are protesting the “out-of-town, nonunion” workers employed by contractor Midwest Underground Technology, Inc. (MUTI), of Champaign, Local 751 organizer Terry Taylor, of Kankakee, said Thursday.
