NUTTBY MOUNTAIN – Almost all of the 22 turbine foundations at Nova Scotia’s Nuttby Mountain wind farm are cracked.
According to Nova Scotia Power, the cracks are being addressed in 19 of the 22 turbines. Although movement with the remaining towers is within acceptable tolerance level, NSP will also repair them.
Supplier Enercon Canada Inc. is paying for the repairs, which are under warranty. Repairs will be complete in March at the earliest. Towers have been brought in during repairs so electricity is still generated.
