Zoning committee approves wind farm request

The Iroquois County Board Zoning Committee approved E.ON’s wind tower request.
At Friday’s meeting Frank Miles, attorney for E.ON, took questions about the plans for a 1.5 mega watt wind farm, with a portion of towers in the Loda and Pigeon Grove townships.
He said he knows the county put a moratorium on wind farms at last month’s meeting in order to revisit its ordinance but the Pioneer Trail Wind Farm was designed to the county’s ordinance it has already approved.
“You are the ones who adopted it. The moratorium is to change it,” he said.
