Contact Energy has won its battle to build a $400 million wind farm at Waitahora south-east of Dannevirke.
In April last year, three commissioners declined an application by the company to construct a 65 wind turbine farm on the Puketoi range, which would generate sufficient power for about 80,000 homes.
Contact appealed to the Environment Court, which two months ago considered arguments from the company and objectors about a revised project of 58 turbines.
The court on Wednesday granted Contact all consents and turbine locations and asked all parties to prepare a final set of conditions for it to approve.
