Infinergy informs us that ‘opinion surveys regularly show that seven out of 10 people are in favour of wind energy’ (Journal, February 1).
That may be true. However, I am sure that more than seven out of 10 would say they are in favour of flush toilets but they would not be in favour of them being placed in the middle of kitchen floors.
It is the same evaluative process with wind farms. It is not simply a question of asking whether or not wind farms, like flush toilets, might be considered ‘good’. It is a question of also assessing their appropriate locations and environmental impact.
