Moyarget could be the site for a wind farm.
London-based Coronation Power has written to Moyle District Council saying: “We are planning to develop a 8 turbine wind farm at Moyarget.
“The turbine currently planned would consist of a 80m tower with a 45m blade, making a total tip height of 125m.
“I am writing this letter to formally consult with your organisation as to the suitability of this site for a wind farm.
“Are there any issues that we need to be aware of and address in our environmental statement which will accompany our wind farm planning application?” said the letter.
A map along with the letter shows the turbines being situated between Moyarget Road, close to Carneatly, and the Carnsampson area at the A2 out of Ballycastle towards Bushmills.
Recently the possibility of a wind farm near Torr Head was mentioned.
There are also plans for wind farms in the Dunloy area.
