A plan for wind turbines on the edge of moorland has angered villagers.
Coronation Power wants to put up four turbines at Bickham Moor between Knowstone and Oakford to the north of the A361 North Devon link road. The plan will be determined by Mid Devon District Council.
Caroline Harvey, secretary of the Two Moors Campaign which is fighting the development, said: “There are now applications for 24 giant turbines in this small area on the southern fringes of the Exmoor National Park.
“The proposed turbines are 110m high and would have a massive visual effect on the area for very little gain in terms of carbon emissions. The cumulative effects, especially on Exmoor National Park, will be disastrous.”
