The Hammond town wind power committee will host its first meeting Monday night in the town library.
The committee was created to investigate the effect wind turbines would have on the community. The committee, composed of community residents and alternative-energy experts, will discuss the model wind farm ordinance created recently by St. Lawrence County’s Planning Board and Environmental Management Council.
The model will help it create regulations for wind farms, including setbacks, heights for turbines and locations for them.
The meeting, open to the public, will start at 7 p.m. in the town library.
