Commission votes down wind farm

Despite two of three Ellis County Commissioners voting to approve the wind-farm project, a motion to give the go-ahead to the turbine complex southwest of Hays failed today.
Because a protest petition was filed, a unanimous vote was required.
Commissioners Vernon Berens and Dennis Pfannenstiel voted to OK the project, while Perry Henman voted against it.
