PORTAGE, Pa. – When you get up pretty close to giant windmills, you almost get the feeling that you are trapped in a “Star Wars” movie. Your natural curiosity is to go up to the windmills and get an even closer look. But the word from the contractor is to stay away.
According to the Tribune Democrat , the wind farm’s contractor, Babcock and Brown Power Operating Partners LLC, has written nearby property owners telling them to keep their distance. In March, some of the blades of the giant turbines were breaking apart.
So until the giant machines are being built, the public is supposed to stay back.
