CARVER – Voters at Monday’s Special Town Meeting approved a new wind power facilities bylaw that provides for the development and use of wind power as an alternative energy source. Officials said that they supported wind power, but that the absence of a bylaw was hindering its development. Voters also agreed to allocate funds to pay $26,152 in unpaid bills for the current year, to purchase a new $4,000 mail machine, to fund a salary upgrade for the new position of planning and economic development director , and to cover leave time for an animal control officer. – Robert Knox
