The ESB is planning to build a new €45m wind farm in Co Cavan that will supply power to some 28,000 homes.
The project is scheduled to be finished by the middle of 2008 and will see 19 turbines being installed on a farmland site in the Mountain Lodge area.
The ESB says the development highlights its commitment to renewable energy sources.
The wind farm will generate more than 28 megawatts for the national grid and is being built by the ESB’s Hibernian Wind Power subsidiary in conjunction with the local firm Galatech.
