Harelaw Renewable Energy Park, south of Neilston, will house 42 turbines, solar panels and a hydro-electric scheme, if given the go-ahead.
Developer Gamesa Energy UK said it would generate enough electricity for about 47,000 homes.
The company announced plans to submit a planning application for the renewable energy park to East Renfrewshire and East Ayrshire councils.
GEUK has been working on the project for nearly two years and has organised a consultation programme for the local community.
Invitations to community meetings will be sent to local residents.
