Wind Resource Assessment Workshop to be held Sept. 22-23

BOONE ““ The Western North Carolina Renewable Energy Initiative will offer a “Wind Resource Assessment” workshop Friday evening, Sept. 22, and Saturday, Sept. 23.
Participants will receive classroom instruction on the fundamentals of wind resource assessment Friday evening on the Appalachian State University campus, then take a field trip on Saturday to install a 20-meter meteorological tower as part of WNCREI’s Anemometer Loan Program.
Experts from the WNCREI staff will lead the workshop. Cost is $70 for students and $150 for others.
Workshop times are 4 to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
