Wind farm objections top 500 mark

More than 500 objections have been lodged against a 23-turbine wind farm in the Galloway hills.
Planning officials have recommended Dumfries and Galloway Council should not oppose the plan at Blackcraig.
The Scottish and Southern Energy development would generate the equivalent of about 60% of the domestic electricity usage of the region.
More than 80 letters of support have backed the plans to be discussed at a meeting in Castle Douglas on Wednesday.
