THE special meeting to decide if Wellow will have a wind farm has been postponed for five weeks to Monday, October 30.
The surprise decision was taken because of advice from English Nature that an assessment should be carried out on the impact of the proposal on environmentally sensitive sites in The Solent and in the New Forest.
Extra time was also needed to consider an addendum to the environmental statement already provided on behalf of the applicant, Your Energy, which wants to install six 100-metre-plus wind turbines at Wellow.
The meeting was to have been held on Monday September 25.
It will now be held on the new date at Medina Theatre, Newport, starting at 6pm.
