Trump adviser involved in Vineyard Wind opposition
The two Nantucket women said they were suing the federal government because they wanted to save the North Atlantic right whale from offshore wind. County Board holds wind energy hearing
Gage County officials heard nearly two hours of public testimony Wednesday evening regarding wind energy from area residents hoping for more strict regulations. A total of 22 people spoke during the hearing before the County Board of Supervisors regarding proposed changes to the current regulations regarding commercial wind energy. U-turn on wind farm objection
Moffat and District Community Council will no longer object to Scoop Hill windfarm on behalf of the town – despite committing to do so last month. Instead, the group will only forward the results of its recent community consultation on the proposed 75-turbine development to the Scottish Government’s Energy Consents Unit (ECU). Two MPs have expressed serious concern over the proposed Rampion 2 wind farm expansion off the West Sussex coast. The project has been put forward by Germany energy group RWE and could see 325-metre-high turbines – the same height as the Eiffel Tower and taller than the highest peak of the South Downs – installed. ‘Prosecute them’: Dumped rubbish at Fife wind farm prompts local anger
Rubbish dumped at a Fife wind farm has led to calls for tougher enforcement action against fly-tippers. Locals reported the waste, which had been dumped at the entrance to Little Raith Wind Farm near Mossmorran in Fife. Council chief rejects calls for wind turbine ban on Offaly bog
The chief executive of Offaly County Council has rejected calls for a ban on wind turbines at Lemanaghan Bog. The bog is part of a large area of west Offaly currently designated as ‘open for consideration’ for wind energy and its owner, Bord na Mona, hopes to install 17 turbines there. The family of a windfarm worker who froze to death feel they now have justice after two firms were convicted over the tragedy. Ronnie Alexander, 74, died at the Afton windfarm near New Cumnock, Ayrshire after being stranded during severe weather. The security guard from Kilmarnock succumbed to hypothermia after his cabin generator failed leaving him without electricity or heat. Wind farm firms admit safety breaches over worker who froze to death
A construction company and a security firm have admitted breaching health and safety rules in an incident which led to the death of a 74-year-old wind farm security guard.
