What about waste from wind and solar energy industries?
Regarding “Biden plan would spend $16B to clean up old mines, oil wells” (April 2): It’s good that abandoned wells and mines are being cleaned up. But it does not appear that the Biden administration is addressing another issue: waste left over from renewable energy efforts. Wind turbines deployed in the 1990s have reached their useful life and are being decommissioned. Ameren Missouri’s proposed rate hike tied to wind energy investments
More than a million Ameren Missouri customers in the state are facing a rate hike spurred in part by renewable energy investments by the company. “This is after several rate reductions that have happened since 2017,” Warren Wood, Ameren Missouri’s Vice President of Regulatory and Legislative Affairs said. “The net effect over the last five years is about 5.4% rate change or one percent per year since then.” Wood said the utility has 1.2 million customers in Missouri, for which, . . . Boone County officials propose new Wind Farm Regulations at public hearing
Public hearings for Wind Farm Regulations have been scheduled by the Boone County Zoning Commission throughout April. The commission will host the first public hearing Thursday evening at 6:30 p.m. at the Boone County Government Center. Leaders will present new proposed regulations in regards to citizens who are considering being a part of the wind farm. County P&Z hears public input on proposed wind farm regulations
At a brief public hearing, the Boone County Planning and Zoning Commission heard public comments both for and against its proposed regulations on wind farms. RWE Renewables has been eyeing land near Harrisburg in northwestern Boone County, as well as in neighboring Howard County, for a potential wind farm. Boone County leaders schedule public hearings to discuss wind farm regulations
Boone County leaders have scheduled public hearings for wind farm regulations that could go into effect later this year. The regulations create rules on how wind farm projects will be approved, operated and where they will be placed. Tenaska responds to Knox County residents concerned about proposed wind farm
EDINA, Mo. – Wind energy is quickly becoming one of the most popular forms of energy in the country, with rural communities like Adair and Schuyler counties shifting toward the renewable resource. Next phase starts for Firebrick wind farm
Representatives from Cordelio Power and Tenaska met with Audrain County commissioners on Thursday to discuss the next phase of the 400 megawatt Firebrick wind project. Cordelio acquired the wind farm project from Omaha-based Tenaska in late February for an undisclosed amount.
