Getty Wind Farm project could affect habitat

A wind farm project in Getty and Sauk Centre Townships moving through the permitting process has some local citizens worried about its affect on wildlife habitat among other concerns. A few have submitted written testimony to the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission, which is taking comments from the public on this project through Dec. 30.
According to the permit application for the Getty Wind Farm, species at risk of habitat displacement which are considered sensitive to habitat displacement include marbled godwit, upland sandpiper, bobolink and sedge wren.
