These incredible images capture how a WIND TURBINE caught fire on the hills near Bacup.
Firefighters were called to tackle the burning structure on Todmorden Moor in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Two crews from Bacup and West Yorkshire stations were scrambled to the flaming turbine, off Flower Scar Road, at 3.45am.
It’s not yet known what caused the blaze, but engineers were also called to the scene to investigate.
Bacup Fire Station, who were called to tackle the incident, tweeted four images of the turbine in flames on Wednesday morning. They added the message: “Crews called out to a wind turbine blaze in the early hours.”
A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that crews from Bacup and West Yorkshire were sent to Flower Scar Road, near Todmorden, at 3.45am on Wednesday, June 3.
