    Save The River will host winter event Feb. 8 and 9

    Save The River’s 19th annual Winter Environmental Weekend will be Feb. 8 and 9 at the Clayton Opera House. Policy makers, scientists, elected officials and citizens concerned with environmental issues surrounding the St. Lawrence River are encouraged to participate.

    The event kicks off with a cocktail party from 6 to 8 p.m. Feb. 8 with hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar. The conference begins at 8:30 a.m. Feb. 9 with presentations on topics such as wildlife conservation, natural resources of the upper St. Lawrence River, and river-related policies. A luncheon is included.

    The Feb. 9 evening session begins with a cocktail hour and silent auction at 5:30 p.m. Dinner begins at 7 with keynote speaker Peter Annin, author of “The Great Lakes Water Wars”.

    The registration fee for the Feb. 9 lunch conference is $25 and the dinner is $55 per person. Registrations should be made by Feb. 1.
