Wind farm a sin against nature

Casper Star-Tribune | August 15, 2014 | trib.com

The Industrial Siting Council decision to OK a permit for the Chokecherry-Sierra Madre wind farm, is most likely based on the number of jobs to be created and the anticipated revenue to be realized. From the long term standpoint, the council made a wrong decision. The devastating environmental impact of this 1,000-tower wind generating project is the most profound negative effect of any energy ever developed in Wyoming.

To sacrifice Wyoming for this “green dream” is a sin against nature. To meet the electric demands of this nation will require 108,000 square miles of land with wind farms annually.

It is possible that in 30 years, wind energy will be replaced. I hope that, in the permit, provisions have been made to clean up the wind farm mess and restore the environment we will lose.
