Charges in wind turbine crash

The driver and the company that owns a tractor-trailer carrying the base of a wind turbine when it lost its load face six charges.

The Ministry of Transportation charged Equipment Express of Ayr, Ontario and the driver with failing to produce a permit and failure to comply with condition of permit. The alleged violation involves a municipal multiple trips moving permit which is issued by the Corporation of the County of Essex.

The charges also include part of drawn vehicle became detached.

The accident on February 4 shut down County Rd. 42 between County Rd. 43 and Banwell Rd. for several hours.
