Have you ever wanted to live in a ghost town? Have you ever dreamed about your home being worthless? What about your town losing all its schools and banking institutions?

If you live in rural Ontario, all these wonderful dreams are coming true and it’s all thanks to our provincial government and all in the name of sustainable energy. It’s happening all over rural Ontario. The government is building wind turbines at an alarming rate all throughout what were once beautiful tourist destinations and are now scaring everyone, including local townspeople, away.

The term ghost town is running rampant these days in rural Ontario. The government is purposely bringing down property values, making it more and more difficult for families to survive in their towns. The government is forcing families to drive further and further away for everything from jobs to banking to education for their children.

The government needs to put its wind turbines somewhere. It needs to show the green people of Toronto that, yes, its is moving towards an Agenda 21 style of policy where the destruction of rural Ontario is disguised as sustainable green energy.

Here is how I see it; the government destroys the value of land. This leaves the local towns with much smaller tax revenue than what is normally collected, since most townspeople have already left. The few properties that remain are worthless and don’t fetch much tax revenue. This leaves the town in a very tight bind. The only hope they have is to take the money the province and the green turbines are offering. Since there are no longer any homeowners left to pay a tax bill, the local town sees no other way but to accept the offer.

The government builds massive wind turbines and offers a fraction of what a home owner would be paying in taxes and gives the city a glimpse of financial hope. The few home owners left have a home that is worthless.

Would you buy a home where a turbine is in your backyard? Most of rural Ontario is deemed agriculture, this brings a cheaper rate for the industrial wind turbines and these rates won’t bring the town much of a return.

With unsafe turbines in rural Ontario’s backyard, the people have no choice but to abandon their worthless homes and move out. Rural Ontario has been sold off all in the name of ‘sustainable, renewable and green development’ and more importantly, to appease the City of Toronto and its false quest to be green.

I know what some of you Toronto green lovers are saying, this is all a big conspiracy theory and that I’m might be a little bonkers to even say such things. Well, I would like to point you to the town of Zurich, Ont., where once residents had hope; they now have a ghost town with wind turbines as the only thing left to mark their existence.

You want a good example of a country’s economy being destroyed, all in the name of sustainable energy, just look to Germany – where the country will join the rest of Europe in financial ruin; the country will lose 100 billion Euros by 2030, as reported by Thomas Heinzow, a leading environmental economist at the University of Hamburg.

Future ghost neighbourhoods include places like Bruce, Chatham-Kent, Haldimand-Norfolk and Lambton and if any Toronto green would like a second opinion, I dare you to visit these neighborhoods. Better yet, invest in property in these places and you will quickly understand what the good people of rural Ontario are going through.

Just the drive to Grand Bend will bring tears to your eyes and make you realize that we are destroying the earth and causing nightmares for rural Ontario, all in the name of a false, green and sustainable dream.
