Adjournment request denied

blackburnnews.com 24 August 2012

The Chatham-Kent Wind Action Group’s request for adjournment of the appeal for the South Kent Wind farm has been denied.

That means the appeal will move forward as scheduled on August 30th. Presenters will still speak their case but the wind action group will not be able to call any witnesses. ”If there are not going to be any witnesses it’s somewhat unlikely that the appeal will succeed.” says Lawyer Eric Gillespie

He says there may be an opportunity to hear the witnesses dealing with the health affects of wind turbines in another way.

“Steps are being taken A to preserve the ability to appeal whatever decision comes out from the tribunal as well to allow the participants and presenters to put their information in front of the tribunal and to allow discussions to take place around the possibility of combining in some way shape or form the Chatham-Kent appeal with some of the other appeals that are also going on in the Environmental Review Tribunal process,” says Gillespie.”
