Sen. Lasee: To deliver health studies to the PSC on Wednesday urging the PSC to adopt emergency rules to protect citizens of Wisconsin

Madison, WI – On Wednesday, July 11th at 1:00 pm at the Public Service Commission, State Senator Frank Lasee (R-De Pere), a long-time advocate for families who have had to move out of their homes because of the negative health effects of industrial wind turbines (IWT), is calling on the Public Service Commission (PSC) to suspend PSC 128 and create an emergency rule to follow the law and protect our people’s health. He will be joined by those directly impacted by the IWT’s too close to their homes.
“I have championed multiple bills in the past to help protect the health and welfare of the constituents in my district and the citizens of Wisconsin, unfortunately we didn’t have the votes in the Senate,” said Senator Lasee. “There are a number of peer-reviewed studies that demonstrate that there are negative health effects from wind turbines.”
Expert witnesses have acknowledged that wind turbines cause health problems including sleep disturbance, headaches, ear pressure, dizziness, vertigo, nausea, visual blurring, irritability, panic episodes, depression and a variety of other ailments. Experts have concluded that it is scientifically possible that low frequency sound from wind turbines can hurt people living nearby IWT’s.
“There are families in my district that have moved out of their homes to get relief because they are getting so ill and others that want to move, but just can’t afford to. One family’s teenage daughter was hospitalized, and when they moved, she fully recovered. We just can’t let this go on,” said Senator Lasee.
“Tomorrow at 1 p.m. We will be delivering a 12 inch stack of health studies to the PSC to urge them to adopt an emergency rule that will protect the citizens of Wisconsin from the negative health effects of wind turbines built too close to people’s homes.” The Enz, Ashley, and Capelle families, all constituents, had to move out of their homes, they and others will be joining Senator Lasee to deliver the studies to the PSC. “We simply cannot keep putting our citizens at risk, it is only right to suspend PSC 128 until new permanent wind siting rules that meet statutory requirements to protect our citizen’s health can be made,” said Senator Lasee.
“We applaud Senator Lasee for fighting for us.” Dave Enz, whose family moved out of their home in Shirley due to health problems caused by the IWT about a mile from their home.
Senator Lasee said, “It’s about time we stand up for regular citizens of this state, instead of the big wind interests and the green energy at any cost crowd.”
