Siting Council approves second wind project for Colebrook; Vote requires smaller turbines

NEW BRITAIN – The Connecticut Siting Council on Thursday approved the second of two wind power projects planned for Colebrook.

According to its decision the council will allow BNE Energy of West Hartford to build three wind turbines off Flagg Hill Road and three off Rock Hall Road.

The turbines approved Thursday would be built of Rock Hall Road and are opposed by residents who believe they will disrupt their views, ruin their property values and be bothersome because of their noise. The Flagg Hill Road project was approved last week and a similar project for Prospect was rejected in May.
