Ontario Energy Board approves Kruger's application for wind generating station

The Ontario Energy Board has approved Kruger Energy Port Alma LP’s application to build a wind generating station that will connect to Hydro One Networks Inc.

The project includes construction of a new transformer station, a new switching station and a 12 km overhead 230kV transmission line from the Kruger’s transformer station to its junction Station where it will connect to Hydro One’s circuits running between Lauzon and Chatham.

Kruger is building a wind farm with about 44 wind turbines with a nominal output of 101 MW.

Kruger was one of the successful bidders in the Ministry of Energy’s June 2005 request for proposal for 1,000 MW of renewable energy.

The Ontario Energy Board regulates the province’s electricity and natural gas sectors.
