Decree on noise from wind turbines — Danish Ministry of the Environment

§ 3 Noise pollution from wind turbines may not exceed the following limits:

  1) At the most affected point outdoors at a maximum 15 m from nearby accommodations in the open countryside:

    a) 44 dB(A) at a wind speed of 8 m/s.

    b) 42 dB(A) at a wind speed of 6 m/s.

  2) At the most affected point outdoors in areas of noise-sensitive land use:

    a) 39 dB(A) at a wind speed of 8 m/s.

    b) 37 dB(A) at a wind speed of 6 m/s.

In this Order shall apply:

  1) Nearby accommodations: Any other than residential wind turbine owner’s private living quarters.

  2) Noise-sensitive land use: Areas to be used for or planning designated for residential, institutional, cottage or colony purpose or recreational areas.
