Schon wieder: Rotorblatt von Windrad abgebrochen

In Baden-Württemberg ist das Rotorblatt eines Windrades abgebrochen. Die Windkraftanlage wurde abgeschaltet. Die Sicherung werde vermutlich aufwendig. Wind turbine catches fire in Williamsburg early Monday morning

A wind turbine caught fire early Monday morning in Williamsburg, leading to a field fire as well. The Williamsburg Fire Department says they were sent to the 1700 block of 230th Street around 12:40 am Monday. Wind turbine wrapped in flames in lightning storm as huge smoke plume fills sky

Thick smoke was billowing in the sky after a wind turbine caught fire due to the raging thunderstorm and lightning battering Ireland today. The turbine, located in a windfarm approximately 10km off the coast of Arklow in the Irish Sea, is understood to have been struck by lightning at around 12pm. No one was injured in the fire. Turbine struck by lightning as thunderstorm warning in effect

A wind turbine off the coast of Arklow in Co Wicklow was struck by lightning this afternoon and was on fire. Meanwhile, a Status Orange thunderstorm warning is in effect for four counties until 11pm tonight. Blow for Viking as problems found with underground cables

The Viking Energy windfarm project has been dealt a setback, after it emerged that some of its underground cables will potentially have to be replaced. The 33kV underground cables were supplied by French-based company Nexans – with 800km of cables to be provided. WA wind turbine collapse linked to a crack in the steel tower

Denmark’s under-performing and curtailed wind turbines have lost DKK 2.1bn in asset revenue

IntelStor, a renewable energy market research and consulting firm, has uncovered that from 1978 through 2020, Denmark has seen a total loss of 7.85 TWh of wind energy production through a combination of curtailments, faults and failures as well as age-related asset performance degradation.
