Kern County Fire working to put out wind turbine fire in Mojave

Kern County Fire has confirmed that a wind turbine caught fire around 2 p.m. Wednesday in Mojave causing a grass fire. Fire officials told Scripps station KERO in Bakersfield the wind turbine is located on the west-side of Highway 14 and crew members are working to put the fire out. A vegetation fire was contained after the flames from the wind turbine fell onto the grass area, according to Kern County Fire. Officials said the grass fire has been contained. . . . Fire at a wind farm in Puttalam

Oct 29, Colombo: A fire has broken out at a private wind power plant in Daluwa, Puttalam last evening. Investigations carried out by the Norochcholai Police have revealed that the fire was caused by a technical fault which occurred inside one of the wind turbines. Residents have seen the fire erupting near the top of the wind turbine and pieces falling to the ground. The wind turbine, 100 meters in height, supplies two megawatts to the national grid. Windmill blade comes flying down onto Ocean Gate front lawn

It was a scary moment in Ocean Gate Friday morning around 11:00 am when a blade from a windmill came flying down from the sky and onto a residents front lawn on East Arverne Avenue. Wind turbine blaze sparks more than 90 calls to fire service as flames rise from propellers

Worker killed, another critically injured in Newton wind tower plant accident

NEWTON, Iowa – One worker was killed and another critically injured Saturday in an accident at a wind tower manufacturing plant in Newton. Fire Chief Jarrod Wellik said the Newton Fire Department responded to the Arcosa Wind Towers plant, at 801 N 19th Ave E., between 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. on Saturday because of an accident involving employees.
