'We have spent too much money to stop now'
Vandals took to wind masts at the weekend, causing over £200,00 worth of damage but wind energy companies say they won’t be deterred. Wind energy companies say wind farms in the area of Ayios Theodoros wind , despite the vandalism that saw monitoring equipment destroyed. Cyprus to get windfarms
A Greek company has announced its local subsidiary had won production licenses to build new windparks in Cyprus, following last week’s EU energy report that showed the island fell short in the area of developing Renewable Energy Sources (RES). Ch.Rokas ABEE’s subsidiary Rokas Aeoliki Cyprus Ltd will build four new windpower parks in Cyprus, giving a total power of 179.4 MW. Wind power locations need careful choosing
Birdlife Cyprus has expressed concern for the safety of millions of birds after the government last week announced the licensing of 23 wind farms across the island.
