Cumberland County hears pros, cons of proposed Wentworth Valley wind restrictions

No new wind developments in Inverness County for 6 months
Inverness County council has put a six-month hold on any new wind developments in order to review wind turbine bylaws that haven’t been updated since 2012. I am a very concerned citizen of Route 19 on beautiful Cape Breton Island. The Rhodena Wind Farm Project is a proposal by developers from away. They are planning to erect 18 industrial wind turbines of approximately 200 metres in height, with minimal setback or distance to residences. Decision on proposed wind farm delayed as N.S. environment minister seeks more info
Nova Scotia’s environment minister says he doesn’t have enough information to approve a proposal for what could be the province’s largest wind farm. Renewable energy company Natural Forces submitted its plans to the province in January for what it calls the Benjamins Mill Wind Project.
