Bovenste deel van windmolen afgebroken op dijk bij Zeewolde [Wind turbine breaks in wind]

Op een dijk nabij Zeewolde is het bovenste deel van een windmolen afgebroken. De brandweer meldt dat er niemand gewond is geraakt.

De brandweer in Flevoland plaatste op Twitter een filmpje van de “geknakte” windmolen, waarop te zien is dat er flinke brokstukken op en naast de dijk liggen.

Een woordvoerder van energiebedrijf Vattenfall zegt dat de andere zestien molens van het park langs de dijk tussen Zeewolde en Almere uit voorzorg zijn stilgezet. Verder is er een team van het bedrijf onderweg om het park en de afgebroken windmolen te inspecteren.

Stevige wind

Op het moment van het knakken van de windmolen waaide het stevig, met windkracht 6 in het gebied waar het park staat. Een woordvoerder van de veiligheidsregio’s Flevoland en Gooi en Vechtstreek noemt het “aannemelijk” dat het windmolendeel door die stevige wind is afgebroken, maar onderzoek moet dat definitief uitwijzen.

Het gaat volgens hem om een van de oudste windmolens van het park, dat werd gebouwd in 1998. Verder noemt hij het een geluk dat er niemand in de buurt was toen de turbine viel. “Want de rotor heeft echt een krater geslagen in het wegdek.”‘
