Investigations are underway in Austria after a fatal accident today during installation of Enercon turbines at the Potzneusiedl wind farm in Burgenland.
A spokesman for Enercon confirmed local news reports that an employee of an unnamed service provider fell about 100 metres inside a tower during turbine installation.
He added that the “immediately alerted rescue forces could only determine the death of the man on the construction site”.
The Police and authorities have started investigations into the cause of the accident on site, he said.
“We received the news with great sadness. Our condolences go out to the relatives of the deceased. We will support the authorities in their investigations of the accident with all possibilities,” the spokesman said.
