Renewable Energy has suffered another blade failure at one of its flagship GE 5.3-158 Cypress wind turbines.

The OEM confirmed to Recharge that the breakage occurred on 2 January at the Bürgerwind Gronau Epe citizen-owned wind farm in Germany’s North-Rhine Westphalia state.

“There were no injuries. In partnership with our customer and local authorities, we have secured the site and are working to determine the root cause of this event,” GE said in a statement, without giving further details.
