Etwa 500 000 Euro Sachschaden sind beim Brand einer Windkraftanlage in der Gemeinde Sarow (Landkreis Mecklenburgische Seenplatte) entstanden. Laut der Polizei brach das Feuer am späten Montagabend aufgrund eines technischen Defekts aus.
Als die Einsatzkräfte vor Ort ankamen, brannte das etwa 100 Meter über dem Boden befindliche Maschinenhaus der Anlage bereits lichterloh. Es wurde niemand verletzt.
Wegen der Höhe des Windrades sei es nicht möglich gewesen, das Feuer zu löschen, berichtet die Polizei. Das Gelände um die Anlage sei weiträumig abgesperrt worden, da immer wieder Trümmerteile zu Boden gestürzt seien. (dpa/ab)
