Stutsman County may be home to a new wind farm in the future.
NextEra Energy Spokesman Tom VonBische came before the Stutsman County Commission Tuesday afternoon. He informed the commission that the Florida based company has completed numerous wind farms in the state.
VonBische says the project would be in a portion of LaMoure County as well. At this time, they have reached a point in the process to inform the commission of their intentions.
He added the company has an extensive track record in the industry.
VonBische says they also operate coal plants in the U.S.
He added the next steps for their company is to analyze wind and layout of the wind farm.
The wind farm would be a proposed 500 megawatt wind farm, but is currently in the very early stages of development.
