Further information requested on proposed Kilcash turbine

Further information on the proposed turbine at Kilcash has been requested by Roscommon County Council. A decision on the project had been due by today.

According to the council’s planning website, the local authority has requested further information from the company Natural Forces Renewable Energy Ltd, which now has six months to respond to this request.

The project has met with significant opposition from locals and environmental groups who have campaigned against the turbine.
On April 30th, the council received an application from the Natural Forces Renewable Energy Ltd, to construct one wind turbine with an overall tip height of up to 150m. As well as the turbine, the proposal would also see the construction of an on-site 20kV substation and underground electrical cable.
